instead of much and many can also be lots of/a lot of use.
It does not matter whether the word behind in the singular or plural.

watch out!  a little means ' een beetje ' and a few means ' een paar'  

could i have a little sugar in my coffee?                                                                      mag ik een beetje suiker in mijn koffie?
