the present simple.

you use the present simple (present tense)

-to indicate that something is a fact

-to indicate that something is a habit or something happened regularly.

often there is a word in such as: always, never, ever, usally, often, sometimes and every day.
the present tense looks like this:

we like soccer                                                        we houden van voetbal

i cicle to the snackbar every day                            ik fiets elke dag naar de snackbar.

in summer they often play amirican football.         's Zomers spelen ze vaak rugby

watch out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

at the present simple Gets the 3rd person singular (he/she/it but also, for example, my brother, susan and our dog) a-s behind the verb.

my dad always makes cheesburgers on Sundays      mijn vader maakt altijd cheesburgers op zndag

vragen en ontkenningen.

questions and denials in the present tense are formed with to do.
to make an interrogative sentence, use do/does. in an interrogative sentence the words do/does always in front in the sentence:

gewone zin +                                                                      vraagzin ?

he listens to the music every day.                                      Does he listen to music every day?

they often drink coffee                                                       Do they often drink coffee?

to make a negative sentence, use do not (don't)/and does not (doesn't).

gewone zin

i like cicling in the city                                  i don't like cicling in the city

maik watches a lot of movies                      mike doesn't watch a lot of movies

watch out!!! at a question or denial is therefore NO-s behind the verb. the-s is already in the Word does or doesn't

example

jerry reads a book                                   does jerry read?                                              jerry doesn't read a book
